BODY CHECKING SURVEY
CALGARY, ALTA - Hockey Calgary is encouraging everyone to take part in a body checking survey to help determine whether body checking should be maintained or removed at any level of the game.
“It’s very important to hear what our members have to say,” said Todd Millar, president, Hockey Calgary. “We told our members that we were going to gather more information before a decision is made and that’s just what this survey is helping us to do.”
Hockey Calgary organized a committee to review information on body checking and injuries in minor hockey. The results of this survey will be considered along with a variety studies and statistics.
“Whether people are currently involved in minor hockey or used to be involved, their perspectives are very important. We encourage everyone to take part in the survey as all opinions are very much desired,” said Millar.
There are three different surveys people can fill out depending on their involvement with minor hockey.
