Calgary Flames Try Hockey Program

The program is a cooperative between many partners with the goal of introducing the game and growing minor hockey participation. The program will be run at the Association level and supported by Hockey Calgary and other partners. The intent is to model the program after the First Shift program. The First Shift provides a ‘one stop shop’ program that includes equipment with registration. The Flames Try Hockey Program DOES NOT include equipment, however, most programs offer an equipment discount at Adrenalin Source for Sports (inquire with the individual programs).

Each of the Flames Try Hockey program details will vary by association. Some of these details relate to time, location, cost, and if the program is residency restricted.

*This is not a learn to skate program. Basic skating skills will be required.*

GIRLS HOCKEY CALGARY

RAIDERS hockey club

Raiders Hockey Club is proud to partner with Hockey Calgary, Flames Foundation, and our two Source for Sports retail outlets to run our Introduction to Hockey Program. The 8-week hockey program will be open to players who are trying out hockey for the first time or have minimal skating and hockey experience. Each ice time balances skating skills with activity-based games to help players build the skills needed to enjoy hockey as a lifelong sport!

Ages of participants: For those born 2016 to 2020 (ages 5 to 10 in 2025)
Location of program: Crowfoot Arena (8080 John Laurie Blvd. NW) and VIVO (11950 Country Village Link NE)
Times of the program:
- Sundays, January 19th, 26th, Feb 2nd and 9th. No Family Day Sunday, at Crowfoot Arena
- Sundays, February 23rd, March 2nd, 9th and 16th, at VIVO
