The first phase of WinSport Canada's new athletic and ice complex opened three North American sized ice rinks on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. for the very first public skate. The three ice rinks will become part of a larger athletic and ice complex set to open in two more phases over the next two years that will become the focus of Canada's first winter sport institute and home for athletes of all abilities to train, compete and dream big.
Mateo Massitti, Crowchild Atom 1 and Quinn Leslie, Blackie Atom 4 were two hockey players who participated in the public skate to kick off the grand opening of three new NHL sized hockey rinks at Canadian Olympic Park.
