THIS JAMBOREE IS FULL... Hockey Calgary is hosting a Novice Play Smart Jamboree on Dec 5th, 2010 at the Max Bell Centre.
The Play SMART Jamboree is one of Hockey Alberta’s premiere “Learn to Play”programs for young hockey players. The purpose of the Play SMART Jamboree is to provide Minor Hockey Associations with a fun day, designed to encourage fair play between parents, coaches, officials, and administrators.
Novice aged athletes participate in the Hockey Canada Skills program during the Jamboree, focusing on skill development as well as fun and games. Players will participate in on-ice and off-ice activities helping develop the basic fundamentals required to play the game of hockey. The Play SMART Jamboree promotes the fun in sport and encourages fair play, not winning. Each athlete will receive a Play SMART jersey, toque, and skate towel and each parent will receive a parent information package.
The Jamboree also attempts to inform parents of the different aspects of hockey, understand the “big picture”, and hopefully become better hockey parents. They will gain insight into officiating, coaching, administration, and equipment.
At least one parent must attend for each child that is enrolled in the Play SMART Jamboree.
The cost of the jamboree is $10 plus GST.
These types of events do not run without the help of volunteers. If you register your son or daughter for this event and you would like to help out in administering the camp, please email admin@hockeycalgary.com
