Hockey Calgary is a non-profit organization and governing body for all of minor hockey in Calgary, from Timbits to Junior (ages 5 to 21). It is an organization of passionate employees, volunteers, and athletes who commit themselves to the sport of hockey and its place in our community. As the largest minor hockey association in Alberta and one of the largest in North America. Hockey Calgary has 18 member clubs with over 14,000 players, 3,700 coaches, 1,200 officials, and countless volunteers. Our Board of Directors is a diverse group of individuals who strive to maintain high standards of governance and ethics, grow the sport, ensure the safety of our participants, and keep the fun in the game! We are seeking to add new Board members to our team in the position of Director at Large.
Our Directors are expected to play an active role on the Board of Hockey Calgary, including regular attendance at all scheduled Board meetings and involvement in at least one of the standing committees of the Board (Audit and Finance, Governance and Nominations, Safety). Directors are encouraged to support the various initiatives organized by the Hockey Calgary office (Esso Minor Hockey Week, Volunteer recognition events, Adrenalin City Championships, Golf Tournament) and provide representation at various provincial meetings (Hockey Alberta AGM).
If elected to the board, all candidates will be subject to a criminal record check as part of the Hockey Calgary safety protocols.
