HOCKEY CALGARY UNVEILS NEW MASCOT
CALGARY, ALTA – Calgary’s newest furry friend will be welcomed to the Calgary sports community at a press conference taking place at Father David Bauer at 11a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Afterwards, the 6-foot tall dog will be dropping the puck along with Calgary's favourite sport mascots at the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup for the 11:30 a.m. Saskatchewan vs. Alberta game.
"Hockey Calgary is thrilled this City can finally meet our new mascot. He represents respect, fair play and safety. We know this mascot will be a huge hit and will do a great job encouraging kids to have fun,” said Christina Rogers, Manager Communications, Hockey Calgary.
Hockey Calgary held an online contest to choose the mascot’s name and had over 200 people submit their creative ideas. The contest winner will be announced on Saturday and will receive a Petland and Hockey Calgary gift.
